Legends of Belerath
Tales of Bogan Redcap have been along for longer than the lifespan of any goblin, but sightings persist nonetheless. Bogan is said to be a cunning and charming goblin outlaw that lives in the Waste (what is now Dwimmerlaik) waylaying travelers and thoroughly humiliating them before ending their lives and taking their riches and finery. It is said, however, that Bogan always leaves one man alive to tell the tale. Those who have survived an encounter with the goblin describe his appearance rather inconsistently, but the one thing that is always the same is his trademark red hat. The famous red cap is described as a floppy, dingy hat, likely once white, but dyed unevenly in deep shades of red.
Each man that survives an encounter with Bogan reports the same thing: he and his crew of highwaymen vowed to the survivor that they would not stop their thievery until the crown releases its hold on the Waste, and frees Dwimmerlaik from its clutches. Because of this, the mysterious goblin has become something of a legend among Waste-dwellers who long for the old days of freedom to rule themselves. Many who live in the waste fashion and wear replicas of his red hat in solidarity, as a silent support for independence.
Because of his violent separatist agenda and the increasing number of incidents involving the famous Bogan Redcap, he has risen to the top of the Blackguard Rangers’ list of most wanted outlaws. All citizens are directed to report any information regarding Redcap or his whereabouts immediately to the Rangers.
